Data and Analytics

The Village is in pursuit of defining and implementing a data and analytics game plan that standardizes the application of the Strategic Plan’s Guiding Policy.

Why do we need a data and analytics game plan?

Our culture is very data driven, and data, when properly analyzed, can drive revenue and expense decision-making. The Village currently collects data from many different sources, but in order to maximize staff resources, the data and the analytical models that are best suited to drive revenue and expense decision-making need to be identified and consistently utilized.

How do we plan to define a data and analytics game plan?

Through the process of using the correct analytical models to analyze qualitative and quantitative data in order to drive revenue and expense decision making . This multi-faceted project will be completed in the following phases:

Phase 1

Collect data, analytical models and analytical needs from departments.

Phase 2

Examine the data and analytical needs that were received during phase 1 and create draft analytical models and a summary of key data for use during phases 3 and 4.

Phase 3

Communicate the summary of key data and the draft analytical models to departments for input and feedback.

View the Phase 3 Scope

Phase 4

Address analytical needs by providing analytical models and a summary of key data sources for departments to utilize.

*Each phase will have its own scope, objective, due date, budget, and project plan.

Phases 1 and 2 are complete. The objective for Phase 3 is to communicate the summary of key data and the draft analytical models to departments for input and feedback. Phase three will include the following steps:

  • Present the draft analytical models and draft summary of key data document to the Village Administrator and Village Department Heads for feedback and to request permission to share these documents with all Village staff.

  • Present the draft analytical models and draft summary of key data document to Village staff at scheduled department meetings for the purpose of receiving feedback

  • Allow for at least three weeks of Village staff feedback before finalizing the analytical models and summary of key data document.

Who will ensure core services are properly defined?

Realizing a data and analytics game plan will be primarily dependent upon the collaborative interest and investment of the Village Board and the entire workforce. Secondary stakeholder groups may provide input. The team below is dedicated and committed to this project.
